Shiraz
Known as “Blockbuster” Shiraz in wine circles around the world, Australian Shiraz from the epicentre of Aussie wine, Barossa Valley, accounts for 26% of all production. With a medium to full body, the tradition of Australian winemaking excellence is well represented with Shiraz; with drinkers found in “cleanskin” budget segments all the way to fine collectors’ editions.
Cabernet Sauvignon
With the first varieties dating back to Australia’s Colonial heritage, the favoured “Cab Sav” is one of Australia’s most successful wines on the world market. Firm, structured tannins and a medium body make it pleasant on the palate. Select regional expressions are often sought after by overseas drinkers.
Merlot
Though tied to the premier winemaking region of Bordeaux, France, Australia has become a new world hub for this full character wine, perfect as a standalone drop or as a blend.
Chardonnay and Sparkling
With a character and taste that rivals – and often bests – the French and Italian varieties, Australian chardonnay is a lighter bodied cool drinking wine with subtle flavours. Our sparkling varieties are fresh, vibrant, and in demand for their oaky, toasty character.
